National Geographic has published a list of what it considers to be the “100 Greatest Adventure Books Of All Time”.

Bookyards has most of the books that are in this list by National Geographic, and can be found by using its search engine or “Browse by Author” list.

My personal favorites are the following:

First Footsteps In East Africa by Richard F. Burton
Journals by James Cook
Roughing It by Mark Twain
South by Ernest Shackleton
Travels by Marco Polo
Travels In West Africa by Mary Kingsley
Two Years Before The Mast by Richard Dana

I will link the books that are available for free on the web with what is listed by National Geographic within a week or two.
